I get such strong affections for my Pokémon because of my routine uses of them, and I have to tend to them with potions and stuff. They're like my electronic, cock-fighting pets. Even in my non-Nuzlocke runs (all of my runs), I'm always very cautious in trying to keep them from fainting. When they do faint, shit gets real and I intend to avenge them. In my last playthrough of LeafGreen, I never had a single Pokémon faint up to the first battle with Giovanni. Up to that point, I was considering it be a Nuzlocke run with choice. But as my Pidgeotto fainted, I thought "No... I can't abandon you, you're too valuable already. We put out so much effort together. Let's go on".
Anyways, I wonder which one is harder, a Nuzlocke run, or a single Pokémon run. The former can end in a game over, the latter doesn't let you really develop a team.
It turns out you need strength before you can encounter pokemon in the hidden section of Wayward Cave. It looks like I'll have to save my shot at Gible until I get that HM. I just caught a Bronzor (Greyjoy) and a Machop (Robert), though.
Yeah, I don't have the same affection for them as I would a living thing, but each one still has a little personality that I've projected onto them and I'm mildly fond of them. I lost my Tympole to a crit from a trainer's Basculin earlier tonight and felt a minor sense of loss as I released him (R.I.P. Sequerra). I'd never raised a Tympole before and was looking forward to seeing what it was like. He'll be replaced by my Sandile, Reuben (because "Sandile" sounds like "Sandwich"), another pokemon I've never used before.
I'd say that's a good description of the attachment I feel. It's not like I have some deep love for these pokemon, but I'll get slightly attached to anything I put that much work into.
, So I stat a Nuzlocke challenge in Blue. I was hopping that I get to keep Charmader a bit more, stupid Raticate at Mt. Moon. I was really liking Butterfree too. Diglette died as well but he got Critical hit by a Rattata while training it. So far I got: Raticate (Route 1), Nindorina (Route 22), Pidgeotta (Route 3), Golbat (Mt. Moon) Weepinbell (Route 5), Gyarados (Vermilin City), Hypno (Route 11), Electrode (Route 9), Machop (Rock Tunnel), Sandslash (Route 7), Meowth (Route 16), Spearow (Route 12), & Gastly (Lavender Town). R.I.P Charmeleon Lv. 22 (Pallet Town - Mt. Moon) Butterfree Lv. 27 (Viridian Forest - SS Anne) Diglett Lv. 15 (Diglett Tunnel - Route 4) I'm thinking the game is trying to kill me I. I have never seen thsi many Pikachu's and Hunters before, at least 20 Pikachu's and 10 Hunters I've encounter.
Yeah I don't take long to go through the GB games. Plus, Emu Space bar = x8 - 10 faster makes training and button smashing pretty quick just got to mind the health. I had issue with the Rattata's on Route 4 since it the spot I train some of my pokes before Misty and they almost kill off Zubat a couple times. This will take longer due to having a larger team then my Usual 6. I thought it was funny when a Metapod of all thing was teh frsiut to show up in Virilian Forest.
Dammit, Sansa has been killed. I should have known better than to leave a Buneary in against a Machop. I'm just too tired right now. Edit: Wow, Route 215 was deadly for me. My Misdreavous, Rickard, just died from dual-targeting dark attacks by a Glameow and a Gyarados.
Man, I also should start a nuzlocke game. I think that I'll wait till Black 2 comes out. Don't want to reset one of my current games.
Crap Lost my Weepinbell, thinking it could hendle a Dotrio. Good think I found a new Bellsprout right after my old one died, too bad it don'es know Vine Whip. I'm having issue keeping everyone alive since the bike route. Aditions: Weepinbell II (Route 15), Poliwrath (Fushsia City) & Venomoth (Route 14). -New R.I.P.- Weepinbell I (Route 5 - Route 18) Doduo (Route 17 - Silph Co.) Kangaskan (Safari Zone - Silph Co.) Ditto (Route 13 - Diglett's Tunnel) Team Rocket kill off both Doduo and Kangaskan, cheep shot Doduo and a risky move when Kangaskan was confuse against a Golbat (thinking the confusing was gonna lift). I didn't like Ditto that much and overestimated Diglett's defense and got KO'd. Yeah things aren't working that well now. Edit: Oh yeah I was really serprise that a Kangaskan was the first thing to popped up at teh safari Zone and catch it too. Super Lucky? Too bad he died, so it doesn't mean much anymore.
I first wanted to wait till Black/White 2 came out, but I remembered that I have a flashcard. I'm almost done with my black ROM but I never started a white game again. So I just put the game it on my flashcard and I think I'll start tomorrow. Are there some tips and tricks to do this? When I normally play, a lot of my pokemons faint because I don't go to the pokemon center very often.
