Or it goes down to my recent parallelism theory (with history repeating itself).

Hey, I used to be the fun injector in theorizing, but then HH happened. :mock:

I think I've figured out this line:

"The thoughts and resentment of the previous Ganondorf traversed time and space and were born anew in the form of Link."

It's because the trident actually does house Ganondorf's spirit, which is then incarnated in Shadow Link. Dreams really can come true.

But then how does it end up in the Trident, unless we're back to the theory where Midna's spear thing sucked his Demise-hatred out and became the Trident?

Or are we going to get another Seal War game that adds another Ganondorf between TP and FSA and ends with him being sealed in the Trident?

Ganon seemed to like hiding dark artifacts around Hyrule in TP; the trident is probably one of them.

So the Ganon's Malice is inside the Trident? Brutal. Why?

I refuse to believe it's connected to Midna's 4-pronged thingy.

And I mean it could be the same Trident as in other games then, because it would just be Ganondorf's personal Trident that he possessed by Ganon's residual consciousness.

We've had to guess at why since FSA was released.
Of course, we've been distracted by "the trident doesn't have anything to do with Ganondorf's spirit" debates...

Well it's awesome. I think the overarching narrative presented in HH actually works pretty darn well, once you get past the language barrier.

But, seriously I always thought it looked kinda like the Trident Phantom Ganon used in OoT, so I guess it really could be the Trident in other games. Just a Trident Ganondorf owned, that he happened to seal his eternal Malice into once he was defeated in the CT.

Or do I have this all wrong?

What if the Trident literally is Ganon's Malice given a physical form? Like, it normally alters Ganondorf into his beast form, akin to the Spirit of the Hero turning Link into his wolf form, but maybe the Trident is Ganon's Malice in its purest form possible in the physical world. When Ganondorf dies in TP, his Malice just becomes the Trident.

but then how does Shadow Link come out of the Dark Mirror?

Theoretically his malice never really would have needed to be sealed in it. Just from him having used it it could have left an imprint of himself, kind of like Voldemort's Horcruxes (except the limitations involved aren't quite as explicit).

Ganondorf uses the Dark Mirror to create an evil minion, which happens to take the form of an anti-Link (literally, the antithesis of the hero). Wasn't this what already must have happened?

The only reason I said he put himself there was the phrase "traversed time and space" made me picture Ganon's floaty head thing from TP going through some kind of time warp into the Trident, but you're right.

    Fucking metal dude.

I'd just like you to clarify how you're connecting Shadow Link to both the Trident and the Dark Mirror. It sounded to me like you were saying that Shadow Link came from the Trident.

Maybe the Trident got put in front of the Mirror. Happy accident for Ganon II, criminal mastermind.

I find it far too ridiculous that both the mirror and trident would have Ganon's malice in them. One or the other, maybe in the most far-stretched it can get (with the whole random space/time warp), but both? How does that work?

Well, both Ganon and Vaati supposedly have Demise's Hatred in it, so I wouldn't find Ganon's Malice being in more than one thing hard to believe. It's just that it says that a dark tribe was sealed in the dark mirror, not Ganon's Malice... unless Ganon's Malice also existed within the whole dark tribe. But I don't think that's what Lex was getting at.

    You're misunderstanding.

I'm saying the Mirror DOESN'T have Ganon's malice in it. I'm saying that Ganon's malice was in the trident, which FSA Ganondorf took, and when FSA Ganondorf used the Dark Mirror's reflective powers, that malice became incarnate in the form of Shadow Link.

^ I was under the impression Ganon used Vaati as a distraction innorder to get the Trident, which he didn't get until very late in the game. So, presumably, the malce can't have come from the Trident to nake Dark Links before he drew it.

Well if Ganon II is born from original Ganon's Malice then he wouldn't need to have the Trident to make the Shadow Links.

    Problem solved?
